I was thinking about signing up for a few traffic exchange programs but am having second thoughs now. Has anyone had experience with these types of sites?

What kind of traffic do you need? If it is just buzz and bytes then by all means. But a lot of people are trying to raise their clickthrough percentages and traffic exchanges are just apples and oranges.

Spend the effort finding quaity eyeballs, not just the masses.

If they use pop-up/pop-unders.. you'll get very poor quality traffic and piss off a lot of people.

Nancy no kidding. I think squeeze pages are a bad idea and whenever I have a client who wants to design this I go crazy. Worse, they want to compensate based on the result of their very bad idea.

People get annoyed at popups. Any site maker who doesn't want to put something in that makes sense, like a survey or an important message or link that people may actually want to click based on subject matter is kidding themselves.

If you were shopping for a mortgage would you research those sites or say to yourself, hmm you know why don't I just randomly trawl and then see what pops up as the best option to finacne my home?

I was aiming for my percentages. I kind of thought it would be a waste of time. I hate pop ups and unders and honestly didn't pay attention to them prior to having a pop up blocker. Usually if I came across a site with those I just wouldn't even bother reading it. Thanks for the advice and I think I'll go another route.
