I think a lot of people forget about a press release or do not realize their site merits one and can benefit from sending one out.

Who here has NOT sent out a press release to promote one specific site they have been working on?

I have used them on a few selective sites (or projects), but not most of my sites.

I have done one before but not on all of my projects. I have one that I am currently working on that wouldn't benefit from it at all.

Is there software available that will assist in creating professional looking press releases? We have some copy that we have written for our website, but the format is not along the lines of a genuine press release, and short of hiring a consultant which would be very expensive, we don't know how else to go about it.

I have seen plenty of tutorials, of course, on how to write a variety of press releases and similar documents, but no free utility that will put the pieces together for one. Probably is software available, but unlikely to be free and I doubt whether it is worth it for one or two pieces. Rather do it manually using a tutorial.
