Okay, I would like to start up a web-hosting page in ordre to make some extra income.Firstly, who would you recommend to set up the web-page and is it really a money maker over a period of time? And if so how much time should be given to it in order to make decent money? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Don't go into the hosting business man, it's WAY TOO COMPETITIVE. Big companies like GoDaddy, HostGator, and... other things, those are big.

There are also those clients that might want real hostings, not bottom dollar hosting. I think you could be very successful with that but would need to develop a good client base.Medium ecommerce businesses that don't want to do their own hosting, but want real service, real security and know the costs of staff, backups (on and offsite) and traffic.

I think it would be really difficult to develop a client base with a brand new hosting business. There are so many sites out there that everyone has actually heard of. Good luck to you though.

I did a gig with a small hsoting dude he had good service but I think that was because I was his only client. I almost lost the domain and the service disappeared. His reseller account was good but when he dispepapered I lost my client, who now assumed I would host him for free elsewhere and rebuild the site from scratch.Unless you have the credit and the customer service, don't do it.
