I haven't had any experience with anybody other than Google adsense and the way that works is that you display the contextual ads on your site and then every time somebody clicks on the ads you get paid a portion of what the advertisers bid to have their ad placed there. It's a great way to make some revenue.

How does one learn the ropes? I have a new website that I want to promote, but I have no idea how to go about learning the ins and outs of the this type of advertising. Does one get it from the google site or are there better sources of info?

What happens if one clicks on an adsense link on one's own website in error? I invited someone who is really not conversant with computers to have a look at my website on my computer the other day, and turned my back to do something else. A remark by the person made me realize with horror that they had clicked on a few of the adsense links before I had a chance to stop them! I assume that google must be tracking this constantly and is it a black mark? I realise they want to stop click fraud at all costs, but I hope they don't regard an isolated click or two as evidence of fraud! Felt like emailing them, but then decided it would probably be counter-productive! • Page 1 (Original Post) •
