Dixie from Somewhere Over The Rainbow -
I've done paid posting jobs, but it seems to me there is a limited selection of forum topics that use paid posting services. There are a lot of poker forums, a lot of sports forums, and other topics don't show up very often. I know a little about poker, but that gets old really fast. As for sports.... how many innings are there in football? Yeah, I'm that bad. Paid posting would be fun if there were more topics.

Well, one of the things that you can do in a forum is pm (private message) the webmaster of the forum and make suggestions for topics that you could see would benefit the forum itself and give you other topics to post under.Barring that, you can start new threads and if the webmaster sees it doesn't fit in the category he/she has a choice to start new categories. Just a couple of suggestions to help make it more interesting to you. I hope this helps.

But even with different topics and new threads it still comes back to the same subject matter... poker and/or football. Sometimes I get the feeling that paid posting is a guy thing. My husband could probably easily get in his quota of posts on those topics, but he's of the opinion "I work all day, why should I work at home too?"

I think there are a lot of forums that haven't anything to do with poker or sports. There should be lots of opportunities.I also think the poker stuff is dangerous... since they are probably promoting online gambling and the u.s. government doesn't like that.

The best forums to do paid posting on are the ones that allow any topic of course. But, the thing with paid posting is, if you want to post and make some money, you may want to research the topic if you don't know enought about it. I have not any paid posting, but I have a baby and she takes up too much of my time. I may look into it whenever she gets older.

Nancy, you're right. The recent ban on internet gambling does kind of scare me off poker forums even more. That's probably part of the reason they show up so often on paid posting sites. I'm not taking many posting jobs these days anyway. Just seems like by the time you post where you "have to post", there isn't much time left to post where you really want to post. It'd take something really interesting for me to take on another paid posting job.

The ban on Internet gambling is only for the USA, although that's a huge section of it. I don't see any poker sites saying US members can't join though, I'm not seeing an effect of that law. By the way, slightly related, there are no innings in football, there are four quarters. Although I'm sure you knew that and were just trying to make a point.

The United States Government has gone after some US Sites that accepted advertising from NON-US gambling sites. The U.S. Government has arrested executives of NON-US gambling companies as they passed through the US. I understand in both these situations the companies engaged in activities that were legal where they were based.

Be on the prowl for sites that are of forums that seem to need help. Then email the webmaster of the posting forum and see if they can make an offer. There are a ton of Lord of the Rings sites that have gone dead but need posters. You can just google the subject with the word "forums" and find good ones. You would probably get the job too.

First of all, the Bill may have passed with respect to the online gambling but it doesn't take effect for almost a year. The poker forums are still going strong and have moved their business of tournaments to sites that will now and always accept U.S. players.Besides that everyone involved in the these poker sites, whether it be the owners or members will still play poker and still need to have information on how to better their skills. They will be playing in Brick and Mortar Casinos instead of online. So if you can get a job to get paid to post and you do know poker then go for it as the need for knowledge will never end.

Poker forums will still exist, although they might lose money from all their affiliate programs. However, people go there mainly to better their skills.

Poker forums are plentiful. But I'm sick to death of talking about Poker. Honestly, how much can you really say about poker if you're just the average "in it for fun" player? Daniel Negreanu could probably spend infinity sharing his vast knowledge of the game, but I just don't have the skills to do that.By the way, Kaabi from Maryland... yes, I know there are quarters in football. But, until I got married and my husband took a little bit of time to attempt to explain football to me (and I honestly still don't get it) I seriously thought they got points for knocking people down. Yeah, I'm devoted to sports. LOL

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA That's funny Dixie, however, many many many people are interested in hearing about Poker, talking about Poker, playing Poker. That's why there are so many poker forums up and running strongly.People who play, whether for fun or money, go into them to learn how to better themselves so that they can have more fun and make more money. So the interest in this new Bill has been enormous and has vastly changed the face of many poker sites and people are interested in finding out about it. That's why all this discussion.

If you think about it though, the forums that are off of the path are the ones that don't have as many posts because people know less, there will be less posts done. The best forum topics are ones that everyone can relate to. With the gambling boom, poker forums are probably the top forum category, but poker is huge right now. A close second would be entertainment, tv, and sports.

Well, there are quite a few different forums around. As was suggested do a google for forums. There are forums on cars, there are forums on news there are forums on just about any subject you want.I have been on forums about love lives, fitness, nutrition and many others. So if you are really interested in getting into other types of forums do some surfing.

I know there are all kinds of different forums. I was just saying that not many of them hire paid posters. With the huge interest in Poker, you would assume poker sites wouldn't need to pay people for content. I like working for entertainment forums, but they don't pop up very often. I really have a hard time with forums that are too specific. You quickly run out of things to say.

I got your point. But I'm lucky the forum and review site I'm working for offers a highly diversified range of topics and I never felt bored of their topics because of the assortment. Although I've worked before in a forum like that, by the topic they are engaging to are limited to stocks and investments. It's enjoyable at first, you got the chance to also learn, but as time passes, its getting a bit boring and old. I hope you do get what you are seeking. And just be used to the pokers topics haha.
