I am designing a site for a graphic designer and I see there are emerging markets for graphic designers apart from just logos and statinery and brochures. Now people want DVD liners and Myspace page designs.

What would you pay for custom graphics for your MySpace page?

Doing Myspace and bebo are hot markets now for Graphics work.

I have a MySpace but I have not worked on it. There seems to be a lot going on already. The images for the friends take up a lot of room. I do want some audio files set up where visitors can play some music.

What else can designers add to a MySpace?

I wouldn't spend money on graphics for a myspace page. I kind of think of my myspace page as a place to work with my own graphics (no matter how unprofessional they may be). Why would anyone try to make a professional looking page on myspace?

Actually, I have had clients that would certainly pay for a myspace design. They have products and services they want to promote and they know that it takes a young and hip approach to successfully market something on MySpace. I could easily see somebody paying a few hundred bucks for a good MySpace page that includes custom graphics and a smart approach to marketing. The big boys are spending a lot more than that on their myspace (and similar sites) marketing strategies.

Everyone is trying to make a professional looking page on myspace. It looks like a groove thing and not like a commercial, and the viral nature of the friends networks gets people to spread the message fast.

They were a band who ma de Myspace into a monster viewing volume and now they are the big thing, touring making videos getting routine airplay on the toughest stations in Los Angeles.

Myspace can break it big but you have to have a strategy.

I have seen a good number of bands, solo artists, and others using myspace as a way to gain interest. I think it works to some aspect. I looked up a few of the singers I like and the majority of them are on myspace. Personally I wouldn't pay for graphics but others wanting to gain some attention might.
