What do you feel about sites that have incredibly loud and raucous music blaring out of your speakers when the site loads? This is the height of bad design and the biggest turn-off for me. I exit such sites immediately.

I can't see the point of audio, unless you click a link specially for it... except to drive people away from your site rapidly.

Ever notice those ridiculous smileys that pop up on some sites and make the most outlandish and stupid remarks when you hover your mouse over them. I cannot understand how anyone would download anything as obnoxious as that. Presumably they do find favor with many people though because they seem to be all over the web.

I think those smileys are CPM from sites like valueclick so the people showing them don't really care whether you are going to click on it or not. It's highly annoying and I agree that it serves no great purpose at the best of times unless you've initiated it.
