I thought I would ask someone here if they know anything about this. They are holding a seminar at a hotel which is free next weekend to tell you how to make money being a transcriptionist from home. Has anyone ever been to one of these seminars and does anyone here know anyone or personally does this kind of work? I figured it would be a good way to make a little extra income.

Well, I remember my Mom doing that type of thing at home for Reader's Digest and what she did was put the name on the envelope and in the blank spaces on the "You Could Be a Winner" letter and got $0.10 per name. So she would do a thousand a week and make some money. But she worked like a dog to do it cause she also had to stuff the envelopes, seal them and take them back to the "sub-office" for mailing purposes.

Remember the classic. You read a classified ad that says:

"Earn $100 per day. Send $1 and SASE for instructions to..."

You send the buck and get 1 sheet iny our SASE that says:

Place classified advertisements that say ""Earn $100 per day. Send $1 and SASE for instructions to..." with your name and address. Repeat until you are receiving $100/day.

Of course that might that $200/day in advertising.

A "free" seminar is not free. Something is being sold!

Something is being sold, but it could be the training to do the position. You can always check out the seminar and if there are materials to be purchased, just don't purchase them. You are under no obligation to make a purchase right? There are people that do transcription from home making anywhere from 10.00-20.00 or per piece. You have to take a training to have the knowledge of transcription work and the course can run upwards of thousands of dollars.
