Trying to get a domain

I'm trying to get a domain; it's not being used and it doesn't look like it is going to be used. I used whois from GoDaddy and emailed the owner, but is there anything else I can do to try to get this domain? I hate people who just register domains and don't do anything with them!

I am not sure what else you can do. Maybe when it expires the owner may not renew it. I would try the owner one more time and if not see if you can come up with something similiar.

I was once looking for a domain name that was very similar to one I already owned and was using. I e-mailed them several times and never heard back. I didn't even take note of the fact that the domain was expiring soon. Anyway, a few weeks later I thought I'd give it another shot. Typed it in quickly to check the whois and it told me it was available. I snapped it up immediately for the standard fee and thanked my lucky stars. Now I have it forwarding to my other site in case of mistypes :)
