I am currently working on putting a blog together on a niche topic. Does anyone use blogger for their main niche blog?

I've been using blogger for all my blogs, mostly with the ftp to my domain option for publishing. The blog is on my site, but I create it on blogger.com. One thing I notice is that almost the moment I publish it, googlebot visits the site.

I'm trying to decide between Blogger and Wordpress, although I have to admit it's probably going to be Wordpress. However, I have not officially made a decision yet.

I know many people use blogger.com, I think most similar sites to use are also fairly reasonable.

One thing you will notice about Blogger (if you use an external domain for your blog) is that the moment you post a new entry, googlebot comes and visits your site. I suspect it is the same if you have it hosted on blogspot.com but you don't see the log files there.

Blogger.com and BlogSpot.com seem to be the most popular sites for blogging. They are easy to use and you can design them the way you like them.

If you are doing the blogs on your site only though I'm not sure that you will get the hits from Google the same nor the hits from the general public.

I have not heard of or used WordPress before so I really can't comment on that.
