I think one of the best things you can do is to focus on a primary product. Make goals for yourself that are easily accomplished. Try to make your product or advertisement unique and different from the rest. Make yourself stand out amongst the crowd. Build up a group of contacts that you can handle.

Are there good affiliate programs that you know of? I have heard of commission junction and there are so many other ones out there. Link Share is another one I heard of. Thing is I'm not sure whether to go for a company like that or do you look for individual sellers. I'm working on a sports site at the moment and looking for some good ideas.

Well, by using affiliates to aid in your ability to sell you are actually adding new products to your product line without having to worry about the actual sale of the product.

With affiliates you arrange for an affiliate contract whereby you would get a percentage based on what the person connecting through your link to the affiliate actually spends on their product.

This in itself can be an easy way to make extra from advertising on your site. That together with direct selling yourself could increase your profits very nicely with very little effort on your part.

Check out places like MyPoints.com or a similar site and see how they connect to many major stores. I am certain that they are getting commissions on people who link to those stores through there site and actually purchase items.

That's a very good suggestion Sweetness. I have dealt with MyPoints and have purchased through their link to the various stores they have available.

I never thought about the fact that they would be getting paid by my doing that only about the fact that there were savings for me for clicking through that link and I get points so that I can also get some items for free when I get enough points.

It sure would be something that Courtney could look at.

There are a good number of programs out there. Adsense, linkshare, amazon, and commission junctions are the only ones I can think of right now. If you have your site set up just apply for it.
